“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed."

God has a purpose for the things he does. He has saved me and bought me because he desires a relationship with me, but also desires to use me. Our purpose is to share God's Love with the world. To set others free. Because true freedom, true restoration, true victory only comes from one place. The question for me, is will I allow God to use me.

Thank God that the word of God is powerful alive and active. What a prime example Jesus is for us. Taking the word of God and claiming it for Himself. Reading this passage in the synagogue and then declaring, today this is fulfilled in Me. We too can take the word of God and proclaim it over our lives. The spirit of the lord is upon Me, because Jesus healed my broken heart and proclaimed liberty to this captive. And now it is my privilege to turn my life around and allow Jesus to do the same for others through my life and testimony.

Jesus IS the fulfillment of this prophecy and He has come to bring us hope, purpose, life, healing, and a promised future ahead! He has given me freedom to to know Him and to KNOW His grace for me and how it empowers me to share this gift of life and salvation with others!!

So many things can bring us into captivity - sin, distractions, wants, materialism, but the peer of the Spirit will set us free!

Thankfully, Jesus didn’t come to only preach deliverance or even to only bring deliverance. Jesus came to be deliverance for us. Reading this passage makes me question if the Spirit of the Lord is upon me am I filling all in this verse? Am reaching out to the poor? the brokenhearted? How can i help to set the captives free?
