This is our mission and our path to maturity: pray for others. We need to especially pray for leaders and authorities. Our benefit is wrapped up in putting others first and not just a checklist prayer, but a fervent intercession and asking of God for their behalf.

There is a connection between prayer & peace. Not just prayer FOR peace but the path TO peace is prayer for others. How can we have peace in ourselves apart from peace with ALL men?

It's important to be thankful and to pray for people in my life on every level. Authority and submission are part of God's design, and they bring peace and order to our lives. We can trust God with whom He appoints to rule over us in this life (parents, teachers, presidents, etc) because He is in control, and He requires that we honor these people. And most of all, we must honor God. His kingship is what saves us, what allows us to live. Ultimately, Jesus belongs on the throne of our lives, and we can receive and respond to Him because of the work of the cross.

Am I doing my part that ALL men should be interested for? Who is it in my life that The Lord has specifically call me to contend for? I need to remember if I'm not being faithful in my time with The Lord it's not just me who's suffering It's the people around me.
